Pino, a 22-year-old R&B singer, songwriter, and producer based in Toronto, was nurtured in a family steeped in musicality, surrounded by relatives who were not just listeners but performers. Growing up in a Filipino household, karaoke sessions were a staple, further enriching his musical upbringing. His early exposure included his father’s 90s R&B CD collection featuring Luther Vandross, among others, as well as his brother's R&B/Hip-Hop CD mixes from the late 2000s.Surrounded by singers in his family, Pino's early musical education went beyond listening; it became a participatory experience, shaping his artistic journey. Delving into deep research, he immersed himself in the works of Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Static Major, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, and Stevie Wonder. He sought to understand the nuances of their craft.Pino's dedication to learning from these greats, combined with his family's musical influence, laid the foundation for his artistic evolution. His early influences, coupled with admiration for contemporary artists like Drake, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Brent Faiyaz, and The Weeknd, contribute to Pino's unique blend of modern nostalgia.
